Troubleshooting

Fixes for sign-in, connection, device-limit, and billing snags — and how to get help without ever sharing a secret.

Start with the message you see and take the smallest safe next step. Still stuck at the end? Contact us.

I can’t sign in

Use the same method you created the account with — Google, or email and password. After several failed attempts, wait a minute before trying again.

My AI client won’t connect

  • Check the server address: https://api.squat.pro/mcp, pasted whole — scheme and /mcp included.
  • Redo the connector sign-in: remove and re-add the connector, and complete the browser sign-in page when it opens.
  • Check the service is up: open https://api.squat.pro/health — a healthy server answers { "ok": true }.
  • Restart your client after any settings change — clients read settings at launch, not live.

Client-specific steps (plugin, launcher, LM Studio, Codex) are in the manual’s Troubleshooting page.

“Device limit reached”

A license key works on up to three active devices. Free a slot on the Devices page — de-registering a stale device takes effect immediately — or add a device pack for three more. Browser sign-ins count one device per sign-in, and reconnecting from the same place doesn’t consume new slots.

I paid but my plan isn’t showing

Open Purchases — it names the state you’re in. Activation usually resolves in under a minute; refresh to check. If it stays stuck, contact support with roughly when you paid.

License key problems

  • Key rejected — check for copy/paste truncation (keys start with sqk_), and that it wasn’t revoked or replaced. Manage keys on the Seats page.
  • Lost the full key — it’s shown only once and can’t be recovered. Attach a replacement, confirm it connects, then revoke the old one. Your seat and workspace data are unaffected.
  • Key exposed (committed to a repo, pasted somewhere public) — treat it as compromised: attach a replacement, then revoke the exposed key. Revoking a key never removes the seat.

Support asked to see my data

That can be legitimate — and you stay in control the whole way. Support names the case and the exact records in the ticket; you tell your AI assistant in plain language to grant access (only the workspace owner can); you get back a grant ID — a safe, non-secret reference — and paste it into the ticket. Support can then read only those records, fully audited, until the grant expires or you revoke it. The full walkthrough is in the manual’s Roles & security page.

Phishing check: real SQUAT support only ever asks you to create a grant and share the grant ID. Anyone asking for your password, license key, or a sign-in code is not SQUAT support — decline, and report it via the contact page or support@squat.pro.
